My name is Shalisha Pikel and was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, September 1st 1992.
Im going to give a summary of who I am :)
If i was only given one word to describe myself, it would be “Highly Creative”. Okay, it’s two words but you get the idea. But really thats me, Im a very creative person. I draw, paint, design, T-shirt graphics, photography, a lot of short filming, and anything that i can do to make something. I know i have a gift and I plan to expand them into something big! I’m not a bragger or a show off what so ever, I just love feedback from other people so that i can improve.
I’m a very fun person to hang around with because pretty much i can get a long with anyone :D I’m usually up for anything because i love to have fun and to have an adventure. I play a lot of sports, hang out with friends, and basicly have a good time. Im also a very hard worker. Ask anyone that knows me!! I would stay hours at school working on a assignment/project or a project of mine own… doesn’t matter what it is. When i get a idea in my head, i have to make it or at least write it down so i won’t forget my awesome ideas.
Background Story!
When i was very young, i failed grade 3 which sent a high impact on me in life. Now why did i fail? Because of my ears and eyes. I always had ear problems growing up but i didn’t know how mad. I was ssooo close becoming def. When i failed I’ve been told my eyes were bad also. Now all of this affected my learning in school, my grammar was terrible, and i couldn’t pronounce a lot of words right, but i was always good at art. I was always drawing and making something that the teachers would call home and comment on it.
After going threw years of hardship, i came through and graduated from High School with 80s and above :) It was my goal to get good marks in school because i was tired of getting lower marks.
Now Im in College in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. I’ve taken Applied Media & Communications Art (A foundation years of all the media arts- such as Sound design, video design, graphic design, drawing, print, photography, and communications). This course they give you a basic of everything to give you the choice of what you want to take next year. With the stuff they taught gave me great skill and improvement and so happy that i have it. Now I’m taking Graphic Design for a career, which is AWESOME :D
